TENSES
The future continuous tenses is used to indicate that an action will be in progress at a specific time in the future. It is formed using the auxiliary verb “will” or “shall” + the base form of the verb “be” + the present participle of the main verb (-ing).
Examples:
- I will be studying for my exam at 8 PM tonight.
- They will be playing soccer at the park tomorrow morning.
- He will be working on his project next Friday.
To form the negative form of the future continuous tenses, the word “not” is added after the auxiliary verb “will” or “shall”.
Examples:
- I will not be studying for my exam at 8 PM tonight.
- They will not be playing soccer at the park tomorrow morning.
- He will not be working on his project next Friday.
In negative form, it’s also possible to use the contraction “won’t” instead of “will not”.
Examples:
- I won’t be studying for my exam at 8 PM tonight.
- They won’t be playing soccer at the park tomorrow morning.
- He won’t be working on his project next Friday.
It’s worth to mention that future continuous is not a very common tense, it’s mostly used to express an action that will be in progress at a specific time in the future and the speaker wants to emphasize that it will be an ongoing action.
